I've always liked rebuilt SD's. Infact, the first locomotive I became familiar with was a rebuilt B&O SD9, BN #6247. And you're building a rebuilt SD from a P2K Unit In B&O Paint. How Ironic!

I am especially impressed with the engineer's side cab of one of your conversions--the one with the "missing" Milwaukee Road badge plate...and the corresponding darker patch of orange paint where it would've been had some overzealous railfan not horked it off the side of the engine to display in their basement That is great attention to detail. For those that would like to see one of these beasts in operation, the WHitewater Valley RR Museum inConnersville, INdiana has MILW 532 restored to fresh orange and black--no "Rotten pumpkins" here!

Here's an updated photo of one of the SD10s. I'm moving on to the frame an trucks now. That herald may go away before all is said & done. We'll see...

I'm moving on to the frame an trucks now. Yes, you should definitely move on to the trucks, because the front one isn't even on the rails!

Very nice. What is the decaling for under the battery box? I think I'm missing that on my SD10.

Awesome......But where have you been hiding out at Wammi? Dude, Patty gave birth to our daughter on Feb 22. I started a new job 2 weeks later. Trying to get my wits back about myself. I'm hoping to get some work done on the SD10s this weekend. Good eyes, Mayor. Those decals are the bankruptcy trustee information which the units carried after the 1977 filing. I get them from a guy on ebay. He also makes a set for the Milwaukee's freight cars, some of which also carried the "trustee" data.

Thats looking realistic, I love it when someone can make a model look real with the right amount of weathering.

MODS: I didn't notice the REBUILDs forum when I posted this here. Can I get one of you fellas to move this thread over to that forum? It fits there much better. Thanks, Bob

Thats sharp Bob. Did you wire up all of the lights as well?
Nice job. This is just reminding me that I need to get mine back into the paint booth for some weathering.
