Artur~
Have you started the Mother unit for this slug? I can't wait to see what you have planned.

By the way, great looking slug. I really need to get mine finished.

How did you attach the handrail to the stanchions ? I usually like to solder them, but the stanchions are stainless steel (?)

Artur, I am looking for some of this hardware for my own project too. Just as you, I will custom build the brass piping and supports, but where did you found the other components such as the relays? I do have the large air tans already but am wondering where to find the balance (miniatures from Eric?), and their exact name or part # ... Thanks, Stephane

Thanks, Stephane A lot of the parts came with the kit, the circled parts I got from an old Athearn spine car kit. I might have more, let me know and I'll send it to you. Also some of the pipes came from E8 Unit Cab Interior kit.

Artur, the only thing more impressive than the kit itself is your work. An incredible job on a gorgeous slug. I think CN hands down has the best paint scheme and colors for a modern day railroad. Even the slugs look great.

Sent you PM for your offer, thanks.
I don't have any pretention that my own slug eventually looks as sharp as yours, but according my own objectives, I am more and more satisfied with my progress.
But I just cannot stop looking at your post; you really did great on your slug.
I must admit that the underframe pictures will be a valuable tool for figuring out that air line system.

For anyone that is building or considering purchasing this kit you will need to reinforce the frame or replace it with a metal frame. After a few months the resin frame that comes with the kit started sagging in the middle on my model and a few underframe parts came loose. I will have to remove the shell and stiffen up the frame.

Well that's sad. It is such a nice piece of equipment. I am hoping you can easily fix the problem without having to redo the underframe details. Could you simply use some brass angles, even HO rail sections as frames and melt them (using a soldering pen, and a piece of solid iron for fast cooling*) into the frame from inside the shell? That sounds like a cheap plastic issue; like low density, air bubbles (like honeycomb) or something. *I'd certainly run trials on a sheet of styrene first... She certainly deserves a fix. Better be adding a couple buffer cars on your way to the foundry... S

Using a couple sections of rail is exactly what I was thinking, should be an easy fix. I will remove the shell and super glue the rail sections to the frame. I have the GO F59PH kit from Maple leaf trains as well and I'm definitely not going to use their frame.
