Here is the motor and weight installed. that's about 6.2oz, with the shell and other small parts the final weight should be about 7oz or 200g

I just got my kit today. The package came from Israel??? Ya, I couldn't figure out where they are located and the tracking number wouldn't work with any shipping service. For a while I thought it was a scam

surprised me as well, when I had to go sign for it, and then it dawned on me why shipping was a couple weeks, great kit though

Looks great! Does anyone know if there is any difference between the slugs they use for the GP9 and the GP38-2? I'm thinking physical size? I would like to do two paired up with a couple of Gp38-2s. Hope the link works. www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=344333

CN had 3 distinctive slug types, based on the chassis that were used;
ex GP9 chassis (longest version) built from GP9s through the mid 1980/90s. They are numbered 211-263, 271-281
new YBU4 (built by GMDD) is the mid length version, based on the wheelbase of a MP15. They are usually paired with GP9rms, or GP38-2s, but some did start out mated to SW1200s. Some have been renumbered, but most occupy 200-209 (mated to GP9s) and 500-522 (mated to 38-2s)
ex S3 chassis (shortest) were built from old 8400s and originally rode on AAR trucks. Later in life, they rode on EMD flexicoils. Initially they were numbered with a "B" prefix, mated with S13s, but were later divvied up in the 100 (Hump service) or 300 (yard service) number series, and some even went into the 264-270 series to be mated with GP9s.
You really gotta find pics of your prototype within your era to nail down the one(s) you want to model.
I may have screwed up some of the number sequences, but they did move them around in the roster a bit.

Artur~
Thanks for the invite to post some pictures. I will try to get some pics, if I can sneak the camera away from my better half. My road slug is mostly finished, save for the decals and final details that go on after the dullcoat. I am working on detailing the mother unit right now, boy did CSX make a lot of subtle changes to their GP40-2 phase 1s. I got my work cut out for me.
I an interested in seeing how you are going to approach the associated cabling between the units. I am thinking of using headlight wires for the MU hoses and the auxiliary cabling and thicker gauge wires for the MU cables and traction motor cabling. This is a lot of wires to run between the units. I think that I might have to pull the conductors out of some of the wires, to maintain flexibility between the units.
