What about these? I imagine they would only work with blombergs, provided the wheel spacing was correct... Blast, you figured out my plan! I've been fiddling around with a set of these for a little while. The wheel spacing is correct for Bloomberg trucks. Haven't quite figured out how to attach them yet. There is adequate space for truck swing assuming you aren't looking for less than 18-20" radius. I've been looking into using these trucks under Kaslo shells as well.

If they are indeed wheel spaced to match the blombergs, then no. The M420s and HR412s are 9'4" (AAR-B spacing) and the blombergs are 9'.
It could be used for RS18s with lightweight trucks, and even those new resin S13s (to convert them into RS23s)
They look like they have that top mount pivot, and those pickup tabs could be bent inward to clear frame rails. (and drilled for wire)
If onlu Kato would release this truck drive system on a revamped NW2...oh nelly, there would be the 8' wheel base needed for your switcher-trucked slug!

From my research the trucks on the P42 have a 9' wheelbase, which would match the bloombergs, but would be short for the AAR-B truck. I talked to Kato about these last year (specifically a 6-axle design) and they didn't really convince me that we would be seeing these on future models.

I wired up the ditch lights May I ask what are these ditch lights (material/manufacturer)? The boys at my local RR club have been discussing about optic fiber being used for HO lightning. Just wondering if that is what you used here... They look great.

I'm curious, as I'm working on one of these as well... have you mated it to the mother to see if the ride height matches?

You may want to push those handrails in towards the nose. The handrail width should be consistent all the way up the stepwell. Might be a problem for the 'gerthy' rr'ers...

Argh! I can only find top-down shots of the 500 series slugs... They should be bent like the long handrails on the GP9RMs...looking for pics for you...

Thanks for the pics, they are defiantly bent wrong in the kit.

Artur, before you try to bend the wire, heat it slightly (until it changes color) in the area you need to make the bend and it should anneal (soften) the wire enough so it won't break.
