Hey its a little late to mention this, but did you notice that you covered the hinges on the top doors of the battery boxes... I know it doesn't matter too much since you can access the batteries from the side. However, we who maintain the locomotives would be very upset with you.... lol! Its looks great though! You did an awesome job!

Wow! This is great! I gotta couple of old bb sd40t-2 shells with no purpose, never thought of rebuilding them.

Well I thought about that and I decided that they could get the batteries out the side of the cabinet, kinda a hard one to correct after I glued the doors on,lol. I got some of it painted but not quite finished yet. Once I get it painted I will post more pics(soon).. Thank you sir..

TB you are limited to your imagination. Look at different prototypes and let your mind go wild. Georgiaroad(Hank) has the wildest imagation of anyone I have ever met. Go back to the Coloring and Proto-Freelanced threads and look at all the drawings he has come up with for his railroad. Take them and get after it. If you need help don't be afraid to ask.

I will give ya'll a hint as to the way it will look...not sure if it will demo or be one of the minions in regular paint. Great work as usual, Anthony! Ya'll should see his passenger scheme...made me go back to the drawing board on my Georgia Road verison.... H in AL Close up of the LEO logo---Low Emissions, high Output

Anthony,
This is so cool!
I do have to give one toip though. If you are going to move the blower to the right side, I would suggest adding the blower duct as well to that side. The space is there for it under the doors. And since you are adding the doors to the left side of the clean air room. Or is the blower still in the clean air room?
I really like this concept and wish i had a reason to test these out on the CSR. I would definitley build a pair in KP and test them.

It is a very cool concept. I like the modern wide cab added too. Your KP scheme is really cool too.

Brian,
That never crossed my mind. But I think this is how I am going to play this out. There is a blower in the front in the cabinet for the front truck and also on in the rear for the rear truck. Tell me how that sounds. You are more than welcome to build one or two and use them as trial units. Jim at Highball Graphics has all the decals you need to build one.

I would definitley like to do that, but my railroad is not large enough to warrent such power. Trying to stay in the rhelm of believable.
Although Anthony, this unit is VERY cool and looks to be a load of fun modeling. Especially........hold that thought. I do also have a leaseing company Banna Motive Power Inc. (BMPX). I really need to come up with a better name. I could contract with Kansas Pacific to produce these units to lease.

Brian,
Be careful what you wish for... The OMNITRAX railroad Alabama Tennessee River (ATN) just recieved the four current SD70ACe demonstrators to test for several weeks or months. Progress/CAT is using the railroad since it passes the Progress headquarters in Albertville, AL.
ATN has about a dozen units, and is about 200 miles long. It runs an out one day and back the next interchange train from its main yard in Gadsden, AL to CSX in Birmingham, AL. There is a switcher based out of Gadsden and a train that turns from Gadsden up to Lake Gunterville. The power is a brace of ex SP /LTEX SD40T-2 and SD45 units, with a couple of Geeps thrown in for good measure. They haul scrap, and general frieght with an occasional unit grain train to a feed mill near Albertville.
> GADSEN, Ala. â€" Four EMD demonstrator SD70ACe locomotives are moving from London, Ont., to short line Alabama & Tennessee River Railway for in-service testing. Last month, Canadian National moved the locomotives to Chicago where they were interchanged to Norfolk Southern for final delivery to the ATR at Alabama City, Ala. Progress Rail's corporate offices and main shops are located on the ATR at Albertville. Progress is the parent company of EMD. > > > > Both Progress and EMD plan to utilize the ATR to conduct testing of new and rebuilt locomotives in the future. This would supplement the testing of the locomotives at the AAR test track in Pueblo, Colo., saving time and expense for both companies. > > > > OmniTrax leased the 120-mile line between Birmingham and Guntersville from CSX in 2004. The four locomotives, EMDX No. 1202-1205, were constructed by EMD in London prior to the plant's closure and were recently released for service.
Brian and group...
If you leaser rebuilds or at least repairs locomotives, pretty much anything might be help temporarily for break-in runs on the road train...

Also,
If you want these decals, Jim Abbott at Highball Graphics will be glad to sell you these. They come as a strip that will do the regular locomotives and an add on strip for the LEO. LEO does not necessarily have to be a KPRR only design. It is actually a rebuild specification created as a joint venture between the KPRR which was looking for a cost efficient upgrade of its tired SDs and Stephens Railcar Services. Anthony has documented the upgrades through his kitbash, including the CAT primeover, upgraded electrical cabinet, split cooling (something the T motor design makes for an easy conversion). and the silenced exhaust. The addition of the Power by CAT logo and the small LEO decal is all that is needed to indicate the rebuild, after shell modification of course!

A better video showing a typical ATN train with two of the demo unit on their first ATN revenue run to Birmingham and back.

Actually the LEO program can be adapted to any engine. Its adding a CAT engine to the loco and new electronics for the start of the EPA (BS) Tier 0 program.
You could add the CAT engine to the tunnel motor without changing the cab,the cab is something I just wanted.
