Well, as luck would have it, I modified a GP40 fuel tank that has a "suggestion" of the sloped top of the tank. I sanded it a bit to get a better profile, so it is not as good as I had hoped. I figured once it is painted black and held three or more feet away from my eyes, it will pass muster. ;D
And don't give up on this one yet (work has been interferring with the hobby)......plus I have a C&G caboose almost completed that will follow the old girl around.

Well that modified GP40 tank should be correct. I know it's hard to tell on the C&G SD28's. Know one will probably notice unless you tell them lol.

Wow that's neat, will you be kit bashing the decals or are you getting them custom made, i don't think anybody makes them right?

Dale, the lettering decals are custom made by Highball Graphics, the stripes are cut from Micro-Scale white stock.

What did you use for your poling pole? & do you have any basket dimensions?, I've been threatening to put baskets on the 2 SD9's my rr owns for the same reason C&G did.

Dale, I used a round toothpick, trimmed and sanded to size. The "metal" bands are painted on using Floquil grimy black. I will measure the dimensions of the baskets tonight and post them for you.

Sorry for the delay, Dale. The dimensions for the tool box/basket is as follows: 8 feet long, 2'3" square with 1X3 inch slats for the front (outside) and a 1X3 slat on the back (inside).

Is this engine still in the shops Robert? I dusted it off this past weekend, so I have hopes it will be in the paint booth before New Year's Day!

Can this build be included in the Diesel Detailers “Hall of Fame” or something like that? What a showstopper model! Not only is the detailing work top notch, but the close-up photos are crystal clear as well. As someone said in an earlier post, this is artwork.
Give us more please.

I do not know if it is just me, but the pictures in the thread of the build do not show. I am not sure why ... are they deleted after a period or something?
Regards, Ben
