U30C rear sand fill hatch

On the U30C. Was the sand fill hatch always rectangular or square like what Atlas has put on their model?

Was it ever changed to a round hatch and if so, when or what phase?

I am at the point right now where I need to install the sand fill hatch on my MoPac U30C and need to know if I should put the Atlas part on or put a round fill hatch in place.

From what I can see, it appears the rear sand hatch is round. The unit I am building is #2993 which from the phase information is a Phase IIId.
