I bet the people in the other rooms heard your Dremel and wondered what was going on in there.

Believe it or not, in 1968, I was staying at the Dixie Motel in Kennett, Missouri and was working on a Bowser Challenger boiler with my Dremel tool, just grinding away without a care. The front desk called and said they were getting complaints about the noise coming from my room. I told the clerk that I was a dental student doing my home work. The clerk said, "well, just knock it off by 9:00PM." After that, whenever I stayed at that motel, the clerks always asked how my dental studies were coming...one even asked me to repair his dentures (which I declined).

You should have accepted his request, and given a "weedwacker" grill... Would have been so gangsta.

Definitely worth the effort to change the trucks. Was this one of the units that would run to Chicago?

Lookin' good!!!
Hey, do you want resin castings of the proper fuel tank/air tanks? I had a whole bunch made...
The VIA units had a distinct side profile, similar to the SD70s that were built along side them.
I'll send you the castings no charge, just send me an IM with your address...

Looks great, the F40PH is my favorite passenger unit besides the F's and E's of yesterday.

I found this custom built F40PH on ebay I think I only paid $30, it had a bad motor and a blown DCC chip, but it has most of the major work already done.
I'm gonna refer you back to the original post, and say that either you lied, or you're the victim of some of the most serious scope creep I've seen on this board!
