That is funny Jay, as I am detailing the Santa Fe 142 right now while watching a little Monday night football. Looking good. Glenn Hoover

Now I know Hoover is sick. If he's working on Santa Fe stuff. Super Fleet no less. I'm going to have to go down to Benton to pay my last respects....LOL. I hope you're feeling better anyways Glenn.

Thanks Mike, come on down I will share this crud with you. Day 11 and I am on the down hill side finally. Still haven't missed any work though. I am working on that 60M that my friend Eddie won in the raffle last year at our show. Installing a super detail kit from Details West and installing Tsunami sound in it. Hoover

Thx for the kind words. I always liked those units, but i never understood why the headlight isn't centered.

Looks good. Is that a rust effect on the side of the cab?

I added the lift rings on the side. Those were the only lift rings I could spot on my prototype pics of BNSF #122. I have pictures of other GP60M roof details but the lift rings seem to be different on every unit.

Looking good Jay! I'm a huge fan of the GP60M's and have built several (but only of the ATSF variety) over the years and yours is off to a very good start! Hopefully you can shoot a short video of it when you are done so I can give it a listen!
Regarding the off center headlight, I was told years ago that the way the collision posts were positioned inside the nose, the headlight had to be off center to insure the nose door could be cut into the nose with the highest vertical clearance. EMD went back to the drawing board on the SD60M's to make a better looking nose.
Better watch out for that Hoover guy, he is the biggest closet ATSF fan I know..... When he leaves after running all the ATSF trains during an op session at my house, I have to wipe his drool off of all my Warbonnets! In fact, if you look around this forum from a few years ago, you'll find some pictures of him waving his Santa Fe Flag and wearing his Santa Fe hat!

I built up an ABA set years back when I was really getting heavy into detailing. I used the now defunct sunrise enterprise brass lift tabs. The only other manufacturer of them is Detail Associates. Good luck and there looking great!
