Ok Vince. Your confusing me. First you say the thing tbat sucks about knowles fox speakers and then you end with saying it made a world of difference. Brian: I think he meant that the Knowles speakers being discontinued is what sucks.

I love weather like this. To me it is the perfect hobby weather.
I will have visiting power as well as a few lease units. First though I will get my fleet done.
I do not know the train concentrate train movements. The actual mine will not start real mini ng operations until about 2021/22.

Brian: I think he meant that the Knowles speakers being discontinued is what sucks. OK, that makes sense. But digikey still has over 1000 in stock. Buy 50 of them for $80ish and you have plenty on hand. Even if I was modeli g a class one, I don't think I would have more than 50 locomogi es on my layout. But that is me. There are others that can easily reach 50 or more. I think max I will have maybe 30 with my fleet as well as visiting/lease power.

Speaking of locomotives, I really admire the thought process Brian.
My layout and proto-freelance hopes and dreams took a faceplant recently, but I'm looking to restart a-fresh.
I think I'm going to start small with the HO layout and build upon a Locomotive rebuilding/leasing outfit so I can play with a lot different models and perhaps a few "prototypes" *wink**wink*. Scenery will play heavy with the HO.
Once I get settle in the new house I'll pour a cup of coffee and make a list of power.
I have interminable ADD/OCD issues with my plans and sometimes it overwhelms me. Procrastination is the rule it seems.
My N-scale layout will be pretty decent sized, however.

Thanks to Mr. GDRMCO, I now have the prototype for the copper concentrate gon for my N-Scale version of the Copper State Railway. I bought two of these to make into masters for casting. www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10003575a2/20/2It is a Japanese prototype. I will be changing it though. I will move the brake wheel and stand to the right side of the car and lower it down a bit. I will cut the grab irons off and put drill dimples in place. Add a draft gear box for body mount couplers and change a few other things. I will use micro trains trucks with metal wheels. They are unique and have the look of a modern one off prototype that would be good for a 40 year stint hauling copper concentrate. They almost like like the cars that the Copper Basin Railway use to haul copper ore to the processing plant.

Not yet. Of all the things I remembered to get in my Bill of Materials, I forgot the cab interiors. I will be ordering them today. Need to get those in to move forward.
I have a very strong suspicion these models will not get done before I move in a few months. The move is going to put a serious dent in my modeling time because I have a lot of house stuff to get done after we move before I can get my hobby room built and get back to the bench again.

Chances of the future layout being N scale vs HO?

Future layout is going to be N-Scale. Has to be to run the size trains I want. The snoot you see me building on the Railwire forum is my first CSR unit for N-Scale. Ho has been relegated back to getting my fix for fine scale modeling. Getting my N-Scale projects going has moved to the forefront.

One reason. The other is I did not have any cab interiors. Once those come in, I can get back to the HO models.

Last night I finished the decal sheet for my N-Scale Copper State Railway. The roster has changed for the N-Scale version. Still have 12 SD40-2's for main road service, but the following changes have been made. - Three SD38-3's #400, #401 & #402. These are the power for the mine. Deturboed SD40-2's. Slow speed heavy haulers. - Yard slug #100. This will be built from an Alco C628. It will be an ex SP unit. All the SP units got scrapped, but I am going to change the story on one of them so I can use it for a yard slug. A good friend of mine has an Overland brass HO one and I will use it as a reference to build mine. - U23B #204. The story behind this one is when CSR started operations it had a mix of whatever they could get their hands on. The U23B is a left over from that. It still ran good so CSR kept it for local service. - GP30 #301. Same situation as the U23B. The GP30 and U23B are paired and run the Mesa/Chandler branch. - I have reserved #305, #306, #307 & #308 for possible future units. Hopefully I can get around to building two of the Kennecott high cab GP39-2's in N-Scale. Those will be units #305 & #306. #'s 307 & 308 will be rebuilt GP35's into 38-3's for the Tempe Chandler branch. The ex Kennecott units will also be mine units. They will be the units that switch out the concentrate cars and run them through the load out. The 38-3's are to run the cars to the interchange. The grade is down all the way to the interchange so the 38-3's will handle this train. On the freight car front. CSR has purchased 250 PC&F 50' double plug doors door insulated boxcars for its lease fleet. I will use the Wheels Of Time Model. I have one now and stripe the paint. My decal sheet has the necessary decals for this car as well. The concentrate car has been chosen also. It is actually a Japanese prototype coal wagon. Thanks to GDRMCO for finding this car. It looks very similar to the Copper Basin ore cars. This is what the hopper looks like. www.ebay.com/itm/KATO-8028-JNR-Coal-Freight-Car-Type-SEKI-3000-2-Car-Set-N-Scale-/150995703250?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item23280b95d2I will modify the car. Cut off the peaked ends, add end platforms like on the CBRY hoppers. I will then cast my fleet from the master I make. I will use 100 ton roller bearing trucks. This should make the car look very good and very believable as a purpose built car. I also have the decals for this car on my decal sheet. I need to find an easy to use layout planning program to start planning my layout. As soon as I get my hobby room built at the new house later this year, I want to get started on it. At least the bench work.

I need to find an easy to use layout planning program to start planning my layout. As soon as I get my hobby room built at the new house later this year, I want to get started on it. At least the bench work. I've taken to using Visio for layout plans. Fairly simple to use, and you may have it already as a part of MS Office.

I do not have MS Office. I use Openoffice.org It is a MS emulator program and I like it a lot.

Brian, I've got 3rd Planit, it looks like a great tool, but it is pretty complex to use (for me, anyway). I guess my learning curve is way too long for the program.......

I've tried a couple programs and I just do not have the patience for them.

the kennicto geeps, are you still doing them in HO or no? I was really looking forward to the building of those cabs.
