"I wonder what paint scheme the Southern F9's would have been the black or the green."
Black was in vogue..

:)EMD offered the SD49 along with the SD50. I always assumed it would similar to the SD50 in the same way as the GP49 was to the GP50. I would think it would be like the SD50 with two centered radiator fans like the GP49 along with the hood door arrangement. That would also mean the engine compartment would be set back likewise. EMD also offer a SD59 to go along with the GP59 and I think it would be based on the SD60 with GP59 style long hood. Anyway, this is what I've always thought. I've thought about buliding both models someday.

I always thought the C624/625 was an interesting idea.

All,
I thought about these two as well > C636F and the C650DH.

I heard about a modeler up in Milwaukee named John Tews who has his own freelanced railroad called the Timber River railroad. He models the iron range area of Minessota. He made his own C625's using the shell of a C425 and the drive of an RSD 4/5. Something to think about. Andrew

I've always wondered what a C620 would have looked like.

CP's last brand new EMD's were a quartet of H-engined 6000hp SD90MAC's that hardly saw road service and were scrapped last year and approximately 60 SD9043MAC's that are up for sale. I doubt CP will be ordering any EMD's anytime soon.

In 1945 WP ordered NW2s from EMD but canceled the order due to the fact EMD couldn't get 1000HP switchers until 1946 so WP switched the order to Baldwin.
