Started this a couple years ago, but finding a could packs of brass stanchions has moved the project along slightly. Its a resin Kaslo body with Atlas RS32 chassis. The handbrake chains are custom photoetched, attached to the body, not the trucks. I had to cut down the stanchions on the battery boxes because they are too tall. so far I only have the one side handrailed.

Third pic from the top, that M420 in the background has the "barcode" on the side. Where are you getting decals for those?

Thanks for the heads up Sean, I purchased those before I located the minical set, so they are still unused so far.

That's a good looking unit, nice attention to details. The photo etch makes all the difference to the look of it.
One question from someone not versed in the finer points of diesel detailing, what are the different coloured lights above the cab for?

Class lights to designate whether the train is an extra (white) scheduled (green) or the rear end (red) of a train...
Resin fuel tank and air tanks are in! maybe this one will be done this weekend!

I was always told that the red were for passenger trains, or mixed service Sean? Now I'm confused.

No, red marks the end of a train.

Hmm, thats news to me. I come from a CN railroad family, and they always said that the red light/ red class flag system was for a mixed train. I mean the white/green/red class lights and flags, not red marker lights.

Nice Build! Was the Kaslo shell designed to fit the Atlas RS-32/36 or the Proto RS-18? -Trevor

Your engine looks fantastic smokey valley stanchions, long out of production, but I built up a collection. your LHS might have them in their clearance lot.
