Excellent, I agree you should go with cutting the window glass from clear styrene and attaching with crystal clear.

A face only a mother could love. I caught one of these in Allentown yard back in the 90's, it stood out like a sore thumb! You did a nice job on this model. When it's completed, it's really going to be awesome! I have to say this! It makes you wonder what was the design team smoking when they came up with that cab design in the late 70's for SCL? I can picture them sitting around brain storming in their disco era garb or leisure suits puffing away and listening to the Bee Gees on cassette. ;D I found this pic on the net, it can be enlarged for a better view. railbus.smugmug.com/gallery/1399153_yhfjn/2/72863298_qm2yH#72863298_qm2yH

MAN THAT THING IS UGLY!!! You sure have done a nice job on it though. Are you planning on wethering it any or are you going to keep the fresh from the shop look? Either way keep us posted and post some pictures when its "done" Yes, weathering is on the to do list as well. I´m currently waiting for some Atlas spare parts for the trucks and when all is assembled, i will weather it...

Looks nice - although, it looks to me like you could get better details if you were to create a window gasket like OMI did one their models. If you made the gaskets for the 2 front windows, you could "hide" the window frame/gleu joint, because the gasket would overlay the seam between the window/cab. Great model... Brian

Bran, looks good, but right now, i don´t know how i could make such a gasket... Any ideas?
Is you OMI model factory painted?

If you only have the two to make, use the Bachman glass as the pattern for the opening, cut the gasket frame out of .005" plastic, put some Archer rivet decals around the frame edge, spray on the aluminum or silver color and glue in place around the opening with the Krystal-Klear.

I think I would just measure out the window opening - determine how wide I want the gasket to be, and draw it out. (I have access to cad software - so it is easier to do this.
Print out the gaskets on some paper - and use some elmer to glue the paper onto some .005" styrene. Cut out the center first, use an awl or such to make the rivets (practice on some scrape first to learn how hard to press) and then cut the outside of the gasket.
Paint silver and apply
