Wow! That is an awesome weathering (or is it just weather?) job! I have never seen anything quite like it.

Hey these are awesome! I see a lot of details under all that snow. Do you have a diorama you could take pictures on? Something small set in winter would really set these rides off. Nice job!

I can just visualize those diesels pounding through some HO scale snow!

Yep, there's another piece to the 'puzzle'. I haven't done scenery in a long time, though. Randy-yep it's baking soda (from May 2010), and a few other ingredients.

Can you easily remove it if you wanted to? I think so...everything I used is pretty much water-soluble. Hopefully you can see those Canadian-specific details under all of that 'weather'-ing!

Really great job!!! I have always wondered if anyone had done this type of weathering!
IMHO, a diorama set in late fall with NO snow would truly be an awesome sight! Don't forget to do the cars as well.

That is some awesome weathering! What is next to go with them? A rotary snow plow that shoots out snow (baking soda)?

Hahah, thanks. These will be in the display case for a while.
I'd really like to find engineer/conductor figures that don't look like they're from 1937 though. I suppose there's always the undecorated route.

BTW, How do you make the large snow drifts? Do you use a glue/baking soda solution?

Looks very nice! Just wondering if you have had problems with baking soda turning yellow with time?

We'll see what happens-they're only about a month old. Hopefully not!
