What glue do you guys use to attach detail parts? I have had troube with some of my MU hoses coming un-attached. I have been using barge cement thinned with MEK. for some reason they are not staying. I brush the barge on the pilot and the MU hoses and then I let it set for 30 seconds or so, and then attach it. Am I doing this wrong, or should I be using a different glue? The MU hoses are the white metal type.
Thanks, Andrew

I've been using it for several years now and I wouldn't use anything else in it's place. Bob

For inserting MU hoses I usually hold the casting with a pair of tweezers while dipping it into a small puddle of CA placed on a scrap piece of styrene.

I use regular super glue from Wal Mart. Holds extremely fast and does not let go. Christian

If you use Barge thinned with MEK, it will not work like regular contact cement. If you coat two pieces with thinned Barge and let them dry before attaching, you will not get a good bond. Try this instead: after the parts dry, (should feel tacky) put the parts together, get a good fit and alignment and apply small amount of MEK to the joint, using a hypo tube type dispenser. The Barge will set up with a better bond and, if it is metal to styrene. the styrene will mix with the Barge to strengthen the bond. This has worked well for me many years without failure of the joint.
