I started this project about a month ago, but didn't really do anything until I milled the frame. When finished it will represent an HLCX unit, Ex. KCS that is on lease to Pan Am. The unit started as a Proto 2000 SCL SD-45, and was completely disassembled and stripped. I then started adding a few Cannon parts to the shell. The longhood end was also modified to remove the numberboards and add an early EMD style headlight. (This is because the SP light package was removed for a more conventional headlight.) You can see what I have added so far, I am still waiting for some parts. The Cannon front end is built and ready to be installed, I will have pictures soon. Then I milled the frame. First I made room for the large speaker I am using for the new Tsunami sound system. The second thing I did was mill the frame down to add frame rails, That was it for milling. I then added the frame rails made from Evergreen L-channel styrene. After that I added TM cables along the length of the frame and added a cannon air resivoir to one side and started piping it. These details are a rough guess as I don't have any good pictures of the engineers side. That's it for now, I will update it when I get the next heap of parts installed. -Ryan

I wonder if this is one of the HLCX units that I used to see in North Bay all the time...
Looks great so far!
