Here are some pictures of a Kato SD45 that I added details to, like lift rings, speed recorder, mu hoses, and the three strap control box that were used on the SD45's. Adding the control box meant moving the grabs on the engineers side to the fireman's side and filling the original holes with styrene rod and sanding smooth. The unit was painted with Scalecoat II Black and lettered with the PC Microscale Set and Diesel Detailing set. Rick Thanks for looking!

Sorry, all my locomotives and cars are in the non-weathered category. Also, here are a couple of better focus pictures, I wish I had a good didgital camera rather than my wife's point and shoot. I miss doing my photographs in film! Rick J

Swap those worms for a good ol' keystone and it'll be perfect. (I'm only kidding XD It's a lovely model just the way it is)

Since I did #6190 I now finished #6132 an SD45 with the Red P to the fleet. Not a real super detail job, but one I can take to the club layout and not knock off a lot of the detail parts. I did add lift rings, moved the nose grabs to the other side to accommodate the signal box, and new sand filler hatches along with windshield wipers (a later Kato model, had the holes predrilled for the wipers). Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski

They both look sharp Rick. One thing I would suggest is swapping the trucks or the whole drives between the two. 6190 was built in early '68 with the high mounted brake cylinders while 6125 was built around mid-late '66 and had the low mounted brake cylinders. Hence the swap lol
