I collect Johnny Lightning and Greenlight 1/64 cars. I know this is S scale, but when placing a 1/64 car next to a large diesel it kinda fits and I don't really notice the difference. Is there anyone else here that uses 1/64 cars with their HO Trains?

Randy! Matt Snell uses 1/64 scale models in some of his pictures and it appears to look somewhat proportioned in his photos. Perry

I think as long as the vehicle is in the foreground it supports the "scale" effect - it would look strange if it would be the other way round.
Btw Perry, do you have contact with Matt Snell? I wonder how he gets those CR MOW decals on the vehicles, I can't find them and would love to have some for some MOW vehicles ...

That first pick-up is pretty cool! Wouldn't mind driving one myself.

It's a 1965 Dodge D-100 made by Greenlight. You can pick them up for $4.99.

I called it Old Blue and I sold it to a guy I know 5 years ago after owning it for 24 years. He says it now has 410,000 miles on the original engine.

Looks like someone has a thing for old Mopars. Very yummy.
I'm a Mopar freak too, but with the newer '80's stuff. Turbo-Mopars are my muse. Wish I still had my '89 Caravan Turbo.
My a-building layout seems to have a disproportionate amount of ChryCo products... cheapie EKO '65 Dodge Darts, '59 Plymouth Suburban wagons, the Roco '78 Dodge pickup and some old Revell '61 Chryslers, Plymouths, Valiants, and Dodges seem to populate parking lots and junkyards, I have some Busch late B-body Monacos and Furies, and the Fresh Cherry AMC line are everywhere. Can't wait for the K-cars, they've been done in 1/64 and 1/24 (just released), and the website has what looks suspiciously like a 1/87 test shot.... I'll be buying those by the case.

I've had 11 Plymouth Road Runners since 1968...wish I still had one, but health issues warranted selling.

My first Mopar was a 1966 Dodge Coronet 500 2 door hardtop with a 383 4bb 4 speed. I had that in high school. My 2nd was a 1967 Dodge Coronet R/T with a 426 HEMI automatic. Bought my first Road Runner in the spring of 1970, a A-12 Code 440 6bbl with 4 speed in Ivy Green with Parchment interior. My last Road Runner was a 1974 360 in metallic brown with white stripes. A guy in Indiana is restoring that one right now. I was told he is going to re-create Daisy Dukes Road Runner in Yellow with Black Stripes.

geez - I wish there would be more cars from the 60s and 70s in H0 scale - in my opinion the time when US Cars have been most beautiful!

Yes, I'm good friends with Mattie as well. In 2005 I drove 13 hours from Woodstock NB to Lancaster PA in my $400 '93 Sundance coupe and came home with everything necessary to make it an RS.
Trains and cars, those are my things, in equal parts. There seems to be a disproportionate number of Mopar freaks in model railroading... Andy Harman, a pretty notable RPM'er and a member of this board (greendodz) has a '68 Monaco, for example. And we see Randy's post above...
FYI, I'm looking at a sweet little '71 Demon as a project car ATM.

Good to hear others consider 1/64 or 1/72 okay for forground, I have been trying to find some 1/100 for the back ground but no luck yet. MoPower yeah!!! I have only had late model Dodge myself but I love the late 60's and some of the early 60's I would love a big ugly 300G. I think the G was for G@$D#$ that thing is fast.

Look in Ebay for 1/100 scale, I think it;s from over sea, hong kong maybe, but is lots of 100 cars.. I also collect the Johnny Lightning cars for the someday layout, and like some, just the cool stuff, like muscle cars and stock stuff of real life.. and the cartoon and TV show cars as well. I need about half a dozon late 60s early 70s plymouth and ford cop cars for a diorama I wish to do but them is hard to come by it seems. To me, alot of the HO cars n trucks just seem to be to small..or maybe it's just me.

To me, alot of the HO cars n trucks just seem to be to small..or maybe it's just me. Seems like that to me too. Especially the Trident trucks. Somebody needs to step up and manufacture some true scale, generic HO scale autos that don't look like cheap toys. Plain econoboxes, minivans, SUVs, jeeps, and so on. Hopefully for a little less money than most on the market now too! I'd kill for some MOW trucks, like Hi-Rails, 400 trucks, and the like as well. I like Rover Point or whatever it's called, but they are a bit pricey! I have a few matchbox cars and trucks that are fairly close to HO, and don't look to bad for the backround
