Hi all Here's a pic of a Roundhouse kit of a 40' boxcar I had a go at weathering. Actually, I started this last year, but wasn't really satisfied with how it looked. I think I might have gone over the top with this though? Still, it's all good experience and learning. Critiques and comments welcome! Weathering was a combo of post-shading with an airbrush, grime sprayed on with an airbrush, the rust spots are Tamiya acrylic with Warpigs weathering pigments rubbed into them and streaked down the side. Cheers Mike A

The weathering looks great. Sad to see Rocky rusted over. Must be too much time spent in interchange service. One thing, the trucks and wheelsets seem a little light on the weathering the car received.

Impressive! I've done 60 to 70 cars and they don't look that good. Excellent job and keep up the good work.

I was tempted to scribble some eyes and mouth onto the goat just as a bit of whimsical graffitti

Looks great, the trucks could have been replaced so they do not have to be dead on grime for grime, but some more weathering to them would look nice, definitely needs some rusty wheels. The rust came out incredibly magnificent. Next go I would start by giving the car a wash of a darker version of the base color, to help accentuate panels, grabs, rivets, etc.
Overall Great job Mike!!

I agree, hit the trucks, wheels, and coupler a little harder. The car itself looks outstanding though!
