All,
What are the best windshield wipers to replace the atlas ones on EMD 1st and 2nd generation diesels and GE U-boats and dash 7 series?
Thanks

I would say the good ol trusty A-Line widers.
My self, I use them on every thing.

Funny thing. There was a company that was in business (can't recall the name) that made nice wipers, they made details for other model hobbies as well, and have left the model railroad end. I have one box left. I believe their model train line was Boston Precision? If you can find them, do it! Otherwise, A-Line...

What color should the wipers be in most cases?

Randy, this is a very good question I would ask as well - lol I'd say Silver or Black? It depends - I would have to look at the actual prototype pic. But I would not have a problem to airbrush the a-line ones ... as long as they are to scale and not as huge as the atlas ones I'm happy

OUTCH !!! I ordered 4 packs of the a-line wipers which did cost me 30$ ... Got them yesterday and I must say: That's a very tough price for a few pieces of plastic! Even the photo etched ones I used on my C420 and C424 have been cheaper ...
hmm

well....... yes! easy calculation: 17$ + shipping to Germany + 19% import tax and you have 30US$ for them all ... Of course I did order many other parts together - If I would order only the 4 packs, then they would cost about 40US$ ... Anyways, if you get free shipping, and you pay 4,25$ and you look at this little plastic, I'd rather go to Mc Donalds and get me 4 dollar menus

Railflyer also makes some great photo etch windshield wipers. I have always used the A-Line until I got my first package of Railflyer and now must say that I am hooked on theirs.

Detail Associates or Details West also makes wipers - I think they look good, and are cheaper than A-line. I have several sets - they were 1.75 per loco.
