During the first 60s RFFSA bought dozens of GE U5B switchers. There are still lots of them in operation. I am using a Frateschi GE U5B (http://www.frateschi.com.br/produtos/u5b.php) as a base model for this project. Detail grilles are produced by LFRC (http://www.microtransport.com.br/lfrc.html), a small brazilian company. Shell has already received primer and base yellow coats. I hope you enjoy it. DRLOCO, Sorry for the delay to answer your question, but I have been busy at work. No, Frateschi's models are not DCC ready yet, although installation is very simple and space is not a problem. amazing work...keep it up! PEIR, All Frateschi's models are equipped with plastic shells. The plastic used is very similar to the one used by Athearn. Slick looking prototype. Are you working with a plastic or resin shell?
