She's looking tired, but this is a model of the unit that started me down this path. (No, not insanity, but railfanning and RPM.) It's a Kaslo shell on a P2K chassis. Thanks for looking, Efram eframellenbogen.blogspot.com

Hi Efram,
Excellent execution on this model! The weathering is outstanding, too. Are the zebra stripes decalled or painted on?
I've got a similar project in the works, but it is terribly far down the list of things to do.
It seems that CN 4121 really gets around a lot - it was on lease to Southern Ontario Rail about two three years ago, and I caught it at Hamilton and at Brantford on the Hamilton-Nanticoke and return steel train.
Cheers, Peter.

The zebra stripes are microscale decals. They come in strips. You should make this unit a priority. I have the feeling their days are coming to a close! Thanks for compliments, Peter

Thanks for the info, Efram! I'm not sure if this is just me, but it seems those Microscale zebra stripe sets are really hard to find (?). I have one set, but beyond that one, I was considering painting the stripes - I don't think it would be that hard to do, seeing as all the lines are perpendicular and straight (no curves).
I think you're right, these units are living on borrowed time. Until Canada comes up with an emissions plan like the US (tier 1, tier 2, etc), they are reasonably safe, but they likely won't survive any significant emission-reduction regulations. Between CN and CP, there are still a couple hundred GP9's in service, while US class 1's have few, if any (any BNSF GP9's still going?). Like you said, get 'em while you can!
Cheers, Peter.

that is one interesting loco there. I like the Alco cab on the GP unit. Was that a common Canada thing?

It's not actually an Alco cab. It was a design made by AMF Pt. Ste. Charles shops in Montreal, and it was applied to all of the GP9rm rebuilds. If you look closely, you'll see there's a third angle between the windshields. I think AMF came up with this design to reduce glare from oncoming lights for the crew cab.
CPR rebuilt their GP9u's with a more conventional-looking flat cab face.
BTW, Peter, just use the Microscale website to find the decal set number. You can then order as many sets as you need off your LHS.

I saw a couple of the CN Geeps working up in Proctor, MN over Easter. They are definitely eye catching and your recreation captured the look perfectly!
