Hi friends! This is a RFFSA U5B. The prototype was built during the last 60s and many of them are still working in brazilian yards or hauling small freight trains. The base model is a Frateschi U5B that was completely modified to receive dozens of detail items. I hope you enjoy it. Best regards, Flávio The prototype The finished model The construction Cutting, drilling and filing Kitbashing Steel detail parts Base color Removing mask and applying decals The control panel

Great work, Flávio. Did you use LFRC details on this model? I like the modification to have the cab door open. How did you do the cab interior?

For the cab interior I used parts of Atlas SD35 control panels, Precision Scale Company brake control, .4mm styrene sheet and coper wire. Regards, Flávio

who makes those louvers on the side of the hood? Steve, These louvers are part of a detail kit made specifically for this model by LFRC, a brazilian detail parts manufacturer (http://www.microtransport.com.br/lfrc.html). Best regard, Flávio

I also knew this unit reminded me of something....

Looks like the main difference would be the engine room doors and the radiator section. Tempting.....

Thanks Flávio. Isn't the rear truck gear tower interfering with the cab details? Again, congratulations for your work!

Best regard, Flávio Thanks, I wonder if they'll ship to the US. Those louvers would work great for my HEP boxcar I want to make for my OCS Executive train.

Bruno, I converted the rear truck into a dummy one, otherwise it would have been impossible to detail the cab interior. Regards, Flávio
