Here is my very first switcher project for myself. See here for prototype ( www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2196132 ) Pittsburg Industrial Railroad SW1500 #2342. This model started out as a Athearn RTR PC unit, the real 2342 has the full length handrails mounted on the sill but my PC SW had the hood mounted handrails but that will be fixed when i get my athearn handrail kit I ordered. Still have to get the high tech detail SOU style sun shades. But the hardest part of this model will be doing the long hood lettering as I will have to letter it 1 letter at a time.

Yup, one letter at a time is gonna be hard, but it does look good!

I do all my own lettering (or did many years ago) using dry transfers one letter at a time. Then after years of doing them that way and getting not so straight lettering or the odd dropped letter I started doing them onto clear decal sheet and then applying the whole name in one go rather than letter by letter. Works pretty slick and saves a lot of time and potential frustration. Might be an option if you hadn't considered it. Dunc

I am using Microscale yellow roman decals, I'm just going to do it 1 letter at a time as this is a 1 off unit so I won't need to do it again

I think I'd go crazy and cross-eyed if I had to do that one letter at a time. It turned out really nice though.
