Hi Been working on a CP Rail SW-1200RS. Still awaiting the arrival of some Flexicoil truck frames, and I have some of the finer painting and details to do. But here it is for now. Cheers Steve Modelling NJ in NZ

Hi CP9302 This started as a Life-Like SW-1200. I added MbyE airhorn and ditch lights, BLMA antenna and grabs, a modified fuel and airtank area, plus the Athabasca hand rail set. The fuel tank was modified with part of a U-25B tank. I'm awaiting MbyE flexicoil truck frames and Z scale couplers.
I discovered when this was mostly finished, that MbyE (Miniatures by Eric) makes shells for the SW-1200RS! Hmmm, now they tell me.
Cheers Steve

Here's an update. Still couplers to go on, a couple of the rear handrails, and I'm awaiting a new set of flexicoil truck frames. It'll be finished soon, then it's back to my Alco/MLW projects. First photo shows the new radiator shutters and the radiator fan. Cheers Steve

Hi Rudy The CP Rail thing is a throw back to 30+ years ago when I was modelling CP Rail and SOO (for the U-boats SOO had back then). I didn't even know SOO was largely owned by CP Rail. I became interested in the M&E after a visit there in 1985, but the CP Rail thing is still there.
It is conceivable CP Rail could have worked side by side with the M&E, even operate on M&E lines. Going way back, I believe there was a plan to operate freight on the Cut Off, about the time Ben bought the 18-19. If this had occured, CP Rail could have been involved in later years. Of course when Conrail pulled out, they also pulled up! There was also some talk about reactivating the entire High Bridge Branch from Ferromont Jct to High Bridge to allow an alternative freight access to Jersey. That would likely have involved the D&H and latterly CP Rail. I may be way off with this, but that's my take on the discussions from way back.
It is interesting to see the actual impact CP Rail has had on the M&E. Off the top of my head, 6 Alco/MLWs and 2 cabeese. 5 former CP Rail C-424's, 4216-4223-4228-4231-4240, plus former SOO RS-1 350 and 2 SOO cabeese.
Better get back to work now, though this is much more interesting. Cheers Steve

Shame about those MLW's. #4223 and #4228 are on the WNY&P now, #4240 is scrapped, and #4231 is slated to become a part source. #4216 is supposed to be currently in operating (although dead and drained) condition. The RS1 has been dead in her tracks for some time now, as well. Caboose #100 is usually floating around Whippany, but I have no idea where the other SOO caboose is (#96). I've never seen it.
