So far Rudy and I have come up with the parts we need. We're using bedstadt's idea and going with the A-Line brass steps. Also, does anyone one know what parts come with the CNR 9-44CW Detail Kit?
The other parts were using are DA 1022 for the lower ditch lights, DA 2211 and 2206 for the coupler bars, and DA 1505 for the MU stands. So all that's left is the anti-climber basically. And we may go with the Railflyer DP 1012 Widecab anticlimber for that.

Hi Justin and Rudy, here's what you'll get with the Kaslo detail kit: front and rear anti climber double ditch lights - the BCR style (deck and under anti climber) single rear head light Hi Erik, but with the Dash8 shell you'll get a wrong side sill style greetings from warm flooded Germany

Micheal
Thanks for posting the pics of the Kaslo stuff. It is nice to know what the kit looks like.
As for the side sill you are correct it would need to be changed. I was showing possible solution to Rudy's problem in a dumbed down way. That would allow him to use what was on hand, and he could see fit to cut and mend how ever he wanted. But still have structural integrity with the two pieces.

Does anyone know where I could find the 2 small brass grab irons that bend up on the ends that are located on each side of the short hood if the cab?

In that one shot the silver on the pilot and steps looks like diecast pewter.

I really like the brass grabs. Who makes those, and how do I know what sizes to use?

Alrighty, well..... I had the day off from work, so I was out railfanning on the M&E today, and I caught this interesting high-and-wide move. Looks like there was a Canadian engine whose cab was involved in some kind of wreck... I've since heard that the M&E is in the process of getting a new cab for the locomotive.... Got a few closeups of the high-and-wide move. Looks like the cab was involved in wreck or a fire or both... not sure. Another closeup of the high-and-wide. There's a rumor floating around that there was a Rule G (alcohol) violation involved in this wreck..... I hope the crew responsible for this accident never uses alcohol in the cab again.... REAL STORY: Definitely a Rule G violation. I've heard that alcohol can be used as a degreaser on resin kits, but evidently not on Kaslo stuff. New cab is on order from Jim at Highball. In the meantime, the pilot modifications are done:

I was pretty sure when you said alcohol that it meant the CONSUMPTION of alcohol......and then things went "south" (to the floor) :-)
