My wife puts that plastic on the insides of our windows. She uses DUCK Brand Winterizing Kits available at most stores. It's installed using a very thin double sided tape to hold the plastic to the window frame. We have a few windows that have had the same tape on it for over 10 years and it's still holding. I bought a roll of this tape to put Snake Skin on my Cameras, and it works great because it'so thin. Why couldn't I use this tape to install walkway treads? I'm gonna try it. I put this Lizard Skin on this camera 11 years ago, and it's still holding using the tape.

Randy I would be very interested in knowing if this works or not.. Please give it a try and let us know... I hate using CA to glue the stuff down and I have never made it over to ACE Hardware to get and Barge Cement..

If you have Drug Mart, they sell it rolls in the hardware section for less than 2 bucks. I'm waiting on my treads from Railflyer and if they ever get here I'll do some quick pics.

Chris @ Railflyer was apparently looking into having double sided tape laser cut for just such an application.
I couldn't find Barge in my area, so I used a water based contact cement. I didn't thin it down or anything, and my treads haven't budged at all. It's called Lepage Pres-Tite Green Contact Cement. It works well, and with the small number of things I build with it the can should last forever.

That turned out real nice, Uncle Jay. I have been very happy with the other Archer products I have used, but have not tried the tread plate. Thanks for sharing!

If this pic is the real size of the thing, that's way over priced, $17.95 for a splatter of resin! Can you measure a sheet and give us the size?

Jay,
That's definitely worth it than (Alco tread plate). Is the stuff GE used the same Alco? I have a couple U25C's in the works, and need to do something with them.

Jay - I'm in need of some nine inch louvers .... have you tried cutting down the fourteen inch louvers and splicing them back together to see how that would work ?
Mark.
