This was my second scratch-bash loco. I took a lot of photos and measurements of the prototype, then made scale drawings. The drive is a heavily modified Athearn frame with a Helix Humper motor, shell is bashed from a DA cab, modified side panels from a F 40 and the rest is styrene with some Canon & Co. grilles for intakes and dynamic brakes. The prototype was developed jointly with GMDD (GM Diesel Division, now GMLG) and GO specifically for comuter service and features a separate HEP power unit which can be removed for maintenance through two large door in the rear of the loco.

Very nice! I have the video that shows the build of one of these from a pile of metal to the finished product.

Very nice. That's going to inspire me to take my DA cab and start building my own. Did you use the old Herald King decals, or did you use the ORO decals?
