My project for now is making a small engine facility to showcase my locomotives. Im using some of the material from a woodland scenics module kit. As of now I have the foam board glued to a peice of plywood to make it more rigid. I still need to paint a base color on it. I orderd a pikestuff 2 stall engine house, walthers diesel fueling facility, and a 6 pack of ME code 83 track. Once those arrive and I begin that part of it I will have photos. My goal is to have the look of a small shortline engine facility......we'll see how things go!!

Okay, both my kits and extra track arrived today so hopefully I will get to start on them this week. I will try to take pictures as I go and post them. Progress may be a little slow as I work nights and sleep half the day so please bear with me.
Edit - Ok, after finding out my work schedule for this week, I'll have plenty of time to work on this so let the work begin!!!

OK, heres a pic or two of where Im at as on now. Began with a pile of parts Openings cut and cleaned Next step is to assembled the building and get it standing on its own. Dont mind the pile of parts in the second photo (upper left), those belong to the other kit I plan on doing for this project. Im forcing myself to go slow and take my time putting this together so hopefully that will work out lol.

Ok, got the building up, standing on its own, and under roof!!. I still need to add the roof vents and the rain gutters but its done for the most part. Walls being placed and glued. Standing on its own. After I get the rest of the parts added to this one, the fueling pad is next on the build list.

Nice job Mathew, those kits are great looking, we have a few of them here built up in various forms and one to build. I like the modular construction, you can customize them any way ya want. You going to put any lights or details inside? Keep up the good work, Paul

Thanks guys. I decided to take a break from the glueing tonight and start the fueling pad tomorrow before I go into work. I may wait until tuesday to begin as I have tuesday thru thursday off, as well as part of friday.
Stephen - As of now I plan to leave it as is and just weather it. I may paint the roof a diffrent color as I read somewhere (may have been on the instruction sheet lol) some buildings have the roof white or a lighter color to help in reducing the heat inside the building. Im not sure which way Ill go just yet.
Paul - Im not sure how much detail I want to put into this just yet but I had thought about adding lights inside and out. Its all still a work in progress, especially in how much and what way I want to do things lol.

OK, not to much happening today. I did get a start on the fueling facility but nothing major. I got the pump house painted and assembled and painted a few of the other small parts. Im hopeing the weather holds out tomorrow so I can take the main piece outside and get it painted. Hopefully I can get a little more done tomorrow.

OK, got some paint going today. I got the main base, fuel tank and foam base painted. Although green may have not been the best to use as a base coat, its what I had on hand so thats what I used. The fuel tank is basically done, just having an issue on it (see "questions") I also got a few other small parts painted. I got the trim to go around the diorama to hide the sides as well.
