RJ Corman railroads have debuted their Chinese QJ Class 2-10-2 in Kentucky. While not diesel, I thought this is interesting anyway.

I watched a show on tv awhile back with my son, described the history behind the locos from purchase, manufacturing and shipping etc. Was pretty interesting.

It seems every few years there's a surge of purchases of new Chinese steamers, remember the Susquehanna, Knox & Kane and a third railroad purchasing SY class mikados back in the 80's

They started running "old smoke" right after they got it. I'm pretty sure RJC added the red skirts. The last I knew there were still 2 QJs on the Iowa Interstate. If I were in charge that flat sounding whistle would have to go. A nice 5 chime Lima whistle would be much better.

That engine is sharp looking, the only thing I don't about RJ Corman is the nose harolds... I don't know why but it just hits me there..

From a distance the heralds look like "cutie lips" to me. I notice that the last time I was in New Philadelphia.
