Hey everyone,
I have the newer Athearn RTR SD45 and I bought the Digitracks DH163 for it. I want the rotary beacon on the loco to work. I am guess I put the DH163 on the already in place wire harness and then were does the wire for the beacon hook in? Is it the open spot next to the motor lead on the board? If it is just a 1.5 volt light bulb does it need a resistor on it or is it okay with out one like the lights that are factory installed?

I don't know what functions the Digitrax board has so can't answer as to that. You will need a decoder with at least 3 function outputs. Is the beacon factory installed and working on DC power? On my SD45-2s with strobes and beacons I just plugged in my NCE decoder and the extra lights work with no problems. I used the 9 pin connector. The beacon was on F2 if I remember right. You shouldn't have to do anything extra.
Good Luck.

Thanks for the advice Gentlemen. I will sort this out when I get to my buddies house in a few weeks. See I run DC at my parents but everyone else that I run at runs DCC so I have to have others help me sort it out.
