These are some of the other engines that I have running around on the Pilar Valley Railway trackage. CB&Q #949 GP30 This is a P2K engine that I weathered to closely resemble the protoype engine. Prototype The model CN #5375 SD40-2 This is an Athearn BB that I built for my youngest son who is a CN fan. I built it to match the prototype engine and still have to weather it yet. It started out as an Ebay find. Ended up like this. This is the prototype and this is all the further I am on weathering so far.

Wisconsin Central #1503 GP9 This is a Walthers Trainman engine that I stripped down added details, kitbashed a little and then repainted and weathered. Before it was weathered Burlington Northern #127 A&B These are both Athearn BB models. I have them semi-permanently linked together. I have metal wheels on the calf for extra electrical pick-up.

Great Roster Kenny the first shot of 949 looks like a good Candidate for one of the winter months entry shot, I am thinking January, because it looks cold in that shot.

Good grief! The finish on these sideframes looks VERY real.

Excellent work , as usual, Kenny!! I would have never thought to leave my builds outside to get natural weathering, but as Randy says, those trucks look VERY real!

Neat little roster collection there. Definitely has the feel of a scrappy little shortline. The weathering on the CN SD40-2 frame looks awesome. Can you tell us more on how you pulled it off?

Thanks for all of your great comments guys You all are making me blush For the chassis and truck frames on the CN unit... I started out with a good coat of Dulcote. Then used oil paints and when it was still just a little tacky I used weathering powders on it. I found by doing it this way the weathering powders get a very fine texture to them. I did this for the truck frames. The tanks are smoother than the trucks so I just used weathering powders on them and then did the white on the tank with a light dusting of powders over that to blend it in a little. Then when it was all dry and I was happy with it I shot it again with Dulcote. Thanks again all of you!!

How well dose the Trainline GP9m run, good out of the box or did you spend $50 to make it run good?
