Stephen,
I don't want to hijack Scott's thread but I can't go into detail but I think you will be really pleased when I announce the pre-order date! Basically, I am not going to use Kaslo as I have found a better alternative for the cab, nose, and parts. When everything is final, I will make an announcement about them.

Brian, Here are a couple of pictures of the prototype, road slug #501 was built from wreck damaged GP40 #222 and operated between mother GP40's #226 & #227 commonly referred to as "The Three Stooges" on the MKT they are still in service on the UP today, the model will be non-powered but heavily ballasted! Are they still in service? Under what number? Edit: One more question: Are they "married"? And then this: They look great!!

Thanks, yes to my knowledge they are still together working out of North Little Rock in heavy transfer service, the GP40's are 3000 & 3001 and the slug was/is S300 but I think that number has changed. I will try to find out for sure when I go to work tonight.

Nice looking model - curious about the grills on the sides of the slug - this detail ins't apparent until after you have decalled the slug - are they just decals?
Thanks Brian

Thanks Brian,
The air grilles are E&F unit type Farr Air Grilles cut down to size, these are made by Detail Associates, Walthers part number 229-2701. I placed a piece of black decal in the appropriate location and then glued the Grilles on top of the decals to give it some depth without having to cut holes into the shell.

Can anyone help? I recently ran across this article for the 501 slug apparently it's pretty informative but there are no visible pictures accompanying this article I certainly would like to be able to see them as I was trying to make a set of The Three Stooges myself
