The Pilar Valley Railway is my railroad that started in northern Wisconsin to serve the papermills. Over time it eventually grew to the west. The PVR now runs from Wisconsin to the lumber hills of the Pacific Northwest. The PVR has always prided itself in making sure all the used engines it had bought were repainted right away and upgraded with A/C units, dual large plows and beacons. Now with the economic changes the PVR is not getting it's engines into the paintshop as soon as they would like. This adds for some great patched out shots for the railfans. PVR #3079 (Ex L&N) U33C Detailed old Athearn blue box that I have also weathered. PVR #3850 SD60 This is a Railpower shell on an Athearn Genesis SD75i chassis. I also detailed and lighly weathered this engine. PVR #2006 GP38-2 (ex MILW) Athearn blue box with a few details added and light weathering. On the bench: 2- SW1500's 1- SDP45 1- AC4400 All are undecorated waiting for the PVR shops to get to them.

Hey, thanks a bunch guys for all the great comments!!! I have a few other engines also that I was planning on patching out like #3079. I think the next one I'm going to do is a CB&Q GP30 that I have.

As an L&N guy I'd be amiss not to point this out, but the L&N never had U33Cs. They never topped the 3000hp mark. That being said, the model looks great. Weathering looks just like what a real L&N unit would have. Coal dust, rust, and red clay. Might just want to add a little more weathering around the exhaust stack. As the U-Boats aged, they tended to imitate ALCOs.

Thank you much guys!! All the replies are greatly appreciated!!
Stillbre..... You would definitely know the L&N before me. I just know of them but never have really followed them. Being this is an Athearn BB it is most likely one of those famous Athearn "foobies" I also have an SD9 Santa Fe Athearn BB which is also a Foobie as the SF never had SD9's. As far as weathering the exhaust more..... I can't, it's as black as it's going to get. You can see all the oil down the sides from the top from a blown turbo.

I really like the SD60- plus it's nice to see a bit unit like that with a big rear snow plow.
It enhances it even more.
Nicely done.
Thanks Matt
