Prototype: It' s a 6 axle diesel engine built by ČKD Praha. They built it for home rails (class T669, later 770/771) and exported more to many countries, most of them to the Soviet Union. www.hobbyseiten.de/T669/t669co.htmlModel: I only know about this -brass kit- , and a wonderful Russian, a bit expensive, ready to roll model. But I mean the ready to roll is based upon this kit. Tomorrow I will asked a friend who's rebuilding the Soviet Union in 1:87, maybe he knows better. There are superb models of Russian rolling stock, but small production lines, high prices and nobody knows something about it. Randy where did you find the photo? No commentary to the subject there?

It was on ebay, and it said it was a resin kit. In fact the seller had a video link of them running on his layout. I saved the picture, but the auction is long gone.

Hi Randy I was right. The model that I saw was brass. My friend has no idea about the resin kit, but as I mentioned earlier there are some small manufactures who may have produced it. Or maybe someone casted it at home? I suggest, continue your search at evil bay, or maybe better consult a fellow citizen of you: www.redstarrailways.com/index.aspHis TEM2 is very popular with Russian railway modelers in Germany, and there arises a feeling that I will need a 2TE10. Sorry, I couldn't help. Michael

This is a story, the facts were changed to protect the innocent.
Well, the 2 Russian built locomotives purchased from locomotive brokers in Texas arrived on the River Run property today on flatcars. They arrived from a connection with CSX this morning. The CHME3 was the first unit to be given the lookover. Because of the difference in track guage, (Russian guage is 4 ft 11 5⁄6 in) the CHME3 will be fitted with 3 axle trucks from a wrecked RSD-5. Other frame mounted appliances from the Alco will also be used. The other unit, will be made into 2 road switchers next year.

His TEM2 is very popular with Russian railway modelers in Germany, and there arises a feeling that I will need a 2TE10. I came across this video: The only HO TE10 model I know is the Red Star Railways models. Is it just me, or does this model look too short? Engine room windows look very wrong here - square (or nearly so) when the real locomotive has elongated rectangular windows, although windows are a spotting difference between the xTE10Mand xTE10U models (the Red Star Models model is advertised as a 2TE10U). I'd be very tempted to kitbash a B-unit or two to make a 3TE10x or the rare 4TE10S, but I don't think this is a good starting point. The photo on Red Star's web site doesn't look too bad, but I'd need an explination of what this is on YouTube to make sure it's not a Red Star model: www.redstarrailways.com/zavod.aspRespectfully, - Arved
