This may seem like a basic question but I've never tried to add lighting to a model that didnt have it. When you guys use LED's do you still use a lens for the headlights or does the LED itself serve as the lens? What about when you use the micro LED's for ditchlights?

Uncle Jay, I remember something about coloring LEDs, but forgot which post. What did you say you were using to tint LEDs?

I use a basic trick ..I dip them in flat black paint a few times.let it dry and use a file to take a little paint off and u have a mor driect light

Thanks to DCC, many of the newer locomotives even have light boards that can be removed and easily replaced with a decoder.
