As the Naptown and White River Model Railroad Club, gets older, we would like to come with a new paint scheme to be applied to some GP15-1's. This is our current paint scheme: monon02.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=896823 I designed this paint scheme as If the NWR had been a subsidiary of the N&W and then split before the NS merger to become independent and then modernized it some. Some of the membership indicated that the new paint shceme should be semi-based off of the original NWR paint shceme. Any Ideas are much appreciated.

Green and white.... you know this.. I believe you have it right. Plain and simple is always the best so to speak, or most realistic, or so it seems.

Well I think the black thing is just so plain, like I always say 2 be different is better as it shows a little independs, even if your railroad has some connection with another railroad,,,,,,,,what colors where you thinking of using or is black your color of choice.......?

I am figuring that this unit will be painted, minus yellow reflective striping, weathered heavily, and then the yellow striping will be added. So it looks like it hadn't been painted in 25 years, but the railroad needed to make it comply with safety regulations. Antlorch, they would like to see the blue and gold used for the unit. Christian

I noticed that your club is using blue & gray as its primary colors (passenger cars). So here is a modern color scheme for you to look at. Dan

Christian, You want to show a link to the Norfolk & Western and others in the club want it to be based upon the original NWR scheme, right? So, how about doing both? The NW did use a blue scheme on some of its diesels. nwry.railfan.net/roster/nw1903.htmlThat way you've got your link to the NW and they've got their link to the orginal NWR. ;D p.s. Heres what it would look like in blue... Dan
