Here is another loco I'm painting for EV. But, this is a kinda what if patch job. An EV 'bandit'. The paint job is why I wanted to do this, though I didn't copy exactly what is on SOO 4512, my model is very inspired from this prototype. www.rrpicturearchives.net/locoPicture.aspx?id=10420I'm gonna paint into the rust spots with a fine brush, but I'll wait for the orange to dry for a few days before I mask for the black. Then I will do a final blend. (I hope that works out...) This has been a lot of fun so far. I cut and drilled for a few details ie. plow MU cables ect. but I'm not cutting down the frame. I just don't have time.

thanks for all the replys guys, I'll keep it here. I'm probably gonna get some work done on this today, there's not too many details to add, the paint will be the hero on this guy, but it'll look good. I just wanted a likeness on this model, it's a wide body, and it's a club loco, so it has some nice details, but I'm not gonna put traction motor cables on this... at least not yet!

Hey Guys, I got the paint finished last night. I'll post more pics once I finish the detailing. I was going to put grabs on this one, but I totally forgot because I wanted to paint.

ok, This thing is almost ready to run. The plow still isn't on the front because it's getting painted weathered black as will the frame. -not really sure why I went and painted the frame before but... decals: frame: and this is the Sagami motor set next to an Athearn BB motor for comparison that going in this thing. It's a little bit bigger, but I've already run this thing with it temporarily mounted and it's a much stronger puller that some of the others. Now when it's done, I'll add some weight and between this and the other EV Uboat I'll have a great yard team. -most of our layout has steep grades.

This engine is turning out great! Very nice job. I'm glad you filled in those pilots, that added a real nice finished look to the engine.

thanks for the kind words. once I saw this and the sd45 I did the opening in the pilot really looked bad. So I fixed the pilots on these and installed the pilot buffer plate on one of the other sd45s.
