I know this is for projects, but I did not want to ask a steam question on the diesel board.
Have any of you ever had, operated, or otherwise familar with Pemco steamers, I happened upon a great deal that I passed up(for now) for a Souther 2-6-0 Mogul. I was not familar with the brand, the details looked okay, but looking on line I found out the locomotive does not have a motor, the motor is in the tender, with 2 of the 4 wheel actually powered, I am sure the traction tires would need to be replace, but I wanted to know if the locomotive was junk like all the Model Power, and Ahm stuff that was with it. They even had a dd40 by bachmann, we are talking 1970 quality abound. Cary metal body for F7, boxcab, and a couple of Tyco GG1 or 2s, BL2 by Model Power. Anyway back to my question anybody have any experience with Pemco steam locos??
