what do you think of the decaled sides. they are a bit weak , but it absolutely matches the prototype, I found a direct side shot on line and sized it to match and decaled the entire side. no weathering, I will add more weathering once I get the ends on. This one was before Walthers made the PC version so there is lots of cutting and flipping windows and filling.

Was it difficult working with a decal of that size? I read about the process a few years ago (MR I think) but I wasn't fired up to try it myself. Now that you've used this method, are you going to use it again?

Now that you've used this method, are you going to use it again? It wasn't bad, actually it was two decals per side, I could not find numbers the correct size, I started out thinking I would just make up the numbers, but once I started playing with it, I decided to give it a shot. I coated the sides with microset as I aplied each quarter, then with about 4 applications of microsol I got the results I was after. One thing I wish had done was to increase the contrast of the image, that would have given me a whiter white, which I could slways tone down through weathering, oh well live and learn. And yes, Steve I will definately use the process again, at least for my white cabooses.
