Well, Jose, you can't call them "crummies", that's for sure! BTW, you should give us some tips on how you rigged up the axle generators. Those are exceptional!

Hi Robert, The generators in the Wide Visions came with the trucks, they are a very old Overland Models run, maybe available 20+ years ago. The generator on the 999365 is an American Model Builders laser cut caboose generator set I got from Walthers and glued with CA to the truck.

I like the wide variety you've covered here and you've probably just scratched the surface of ATSF cabooses. They'll look good following those great engines of yours.

Hey Kiro,
So sweet !!! I think I am going to roll back my era and pick up some Santa Fe decals!!!
Did you use the window kit from American Model Builders for 999365? How do they handle that cupola window? In other words, how do you modify that stock Athearn cupola?

Hey Kiro, So sweet !!! I think I am going to roll back my era and pick up some Santa Fe decals!!! Did you use the window kit from American Model Builders for 999365? How do they handle that cupola window? In other words, how do you modify that stock Athearn cupola? Hi, thank you for asking. The cupola is the normal Athearn, window oppenings were reworked and new frames were formed with styrene to represent the prototype as were the cab sunshades and the glass is clear stryene. The top handrail is a 12" brass road with DA eye bolts, the antenna stand is also stryene, the can antenna came from DA. The trick was to fill the spaces between the cab and the body with epoxy putty to give some uniformity. I remember also that the roof was extended about an 12 scale inches each side because the Athearn stock body is too short. The coupler pocket is also styrene, if you notice the couplers are the normal Kadee, by the time the model was finished, the 58 were only in my dreams, jajaja. End handrails were formed with steel rods and then joined with silver welding.

I've always loved the end Cupola caboose's that the ATSF had, with the cushioned underframe, I plan on getting a couple of those, you inspire all.
