I started working on another unit for my main short line railroad, the Shadow Valley. This unit started out as a GP50 core and has been re-powered from a 645F prime mover to a newer 710. This is not an ECO unit as the 710 is a 12 cylinder unit. However some similar body changes are being done, such as the exhaust silencer is like those found on a GP60. The unit also has been upgraded with newer trucks(GP60) and will be equipped with a full anti-climber.
I wouldn't have had to change out the anti-climber if it wasn't for the damage that had been inflicted upon it by its previous owner. This may also require the nose being replaced as it had been started as a CNW GP50 by the previous owner. I have already filled and sanded down the hole in the nose, but I am still not satisfied with the front pilots appearance. This may all be changed soon.....
I will have pictures later today posted. My camera's batteries are dead right now.......

Ummmmmmm. Closer to a GP-59 there, 12cyl 710's @ 3000hp in a modified GP-60 body. Only units were demo's sold to NS. Also there were the Alaska RR GP-49's, 12cyl 645's @ 2800hp in a modified GP-50 body. Just a few ideas..........

nice, this is an interesting project. Is SV is your club road or personal road?

Gary told me that he only had a little paint stripper left and if you notice it is about equal amount of paint stripped off both sides so there you have it.. It will get stripped completely before paint...The body is actually an GP50 body(it has the old style dynamic brake on it) with a GP60 exhaust stack added to it so far...
The Shadow Valley is a personal(fantasy) road .

Yeah, it does kinda have a LTEX look to it...... I had not gotten around to stripping the shell the rest of the way. I got impatient and added the parts before getting all the paint off. Hopefully this week it will find its way, along with two other units, to the 409 vat.
