drloco.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1303382Here's a link to another one of my scans of prints from the late 90's. This time, it's Ferdinand RR #101. This Hoosier State pike was built between Ferdinand and Huntingburg, 6.48 miles, as the Ferdinand Ry in 1909. It was sold at auction and was reorganized as the Ferdinand RR in 1911. It was dieselized in 1953. It was abandoned in 1991 and torn up in 1992. The GE shown was was built to replace an elderly 4-4-0 by General Electric in January 1953, F/N:31715. After being sold to the Louisville, New Albany & Corydon, the unit ended up at the Farm Buearu Co-Op (Now ADM) elevator at Cherry Grove, Indiana along the CSX's former Monon Route from Chicago to Crawfordsville. Thanks for looking!
