This is a surprising sight! I figured I'd shar eit here, with all our high-hood fanatics. In a time when some G&W roads can't wait to get their aging GP9s to the shop to have the hoods chopped and repainted, a GP38 has not sacraficed it's high hood. Columbus & Greenville 2000 is being repainted as C&G 2012 in full GWI orange, as we speak! All I can promis enow is a half-primered shot. www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1540559Soon, soon.... PS: I found this interesting shot from inside the high-hood: www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=628224

That must be why B&P's GP9s were pushed to the front of the line to enter the shop. I think all active geeps are now chop-nosed on the B&P at least.

Just to clarify- I'm not the one taking the pictures, just posting them as I find them, it's slightly news-worthy.
My bad guys!

GW got the Bay Line too. They have two ex CIRR slugs in the orange and black. They also inherited a ex NSRR GP38 on the Chattahoochee Bay RR. Several SW1504 units from Mexico are down there too getting worked on at the Bayline Shops.

Funny how big the stencils are, in HO you can hardly read them.

I gotta admit, that looks just fine! I like the logo placement on the high hood.

I'm about 25 miles from the Buffalo & Pittsburgh line that goes into Erie, Pennsylvania. I've never seen a train on that line, but I hear they run 3 times a week from Warren Pa.

You mean the former Allegheny & Eastern, Randy? On that line in Johnsonburg they're construction a new/rehabilitating an old spur that makes a swooping connection off the A&E to the B&P so they can in theory run trains from erie straight through to Butler, so you MAY see an increase in traffic!

It's the old Pennsy Line. My grandmother took me for a ride on the PRR back in the 1950s from Erie to Corry.
