Steeple-cab electric, without the trolley pole (or pantograph?), probably part of the former street railway in Hutchinson.

THat's the Hutchinson & Northern Ry. was small...2 miles! Its main business was a salt mine. read more and see pix: www.oerm.org/pages/HN1.html

Holy cow, thats a great link. It looks goofy with the pantograph sitting high up on the cab back in the day.

You came all the way out here and din't even say hello???
seriously though I currently reside in Hutchinson Ks and actually watched them move that from the reno county museum downtown to the underground salt museum a year or so ago. The large salt mine right behind the museum is where that unit operated until it was donated to the city.

Greg don't lie to them. That is actually the K&O railroads newest high horsepower unit. I saw Greg operating it the other day switching out some industry in Hutch. Glenn

Sorry Greg, about not sayin hello when I was there, but I drive a big truck and was in and out in a hurry, picked up a load at the paper recycling place just north of the yard there.
