Good afternoon gang-
I have a quick question- I am looking to put a decoder into a bachman 44 tonner that I have.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
It's not dcc ready, so me and the soldiering gun will quickly become friends again.
Thanks Matt

Matt,
I used the "how-to" found in the January 2001 Model Railroader. IIRC, the decoder is a DZ123. Hope this is of some help!

If its the modern version, you could probably fit several of the board type decoders in. If you have a hobby shop, take it in there and see if any will fit.
I'm working on this project myself and when that time comes, I'll probably try and fit a TCS A' decoder in there like a A4X. Dunno if it can fit it or not, but it would be easier to go that route (no wiring to run!
