Hello to all,
Hope to be able to share some exploits as I learn along the way.
I'm in the process of my first diesel kitbashing project. Taking an Athearn R-T-R GP-35 and adding a short high hood to make a Wheeling and Lake Erie looking engine. If all goes well, then there will be a few more to follow. ;D
Thanks to the list owner and moderators for taking on this effort!
Regards from Akron, OH
Tim

Welcome to the group Tim, I'm in Ohio also. for that WLE GP-35, Athearn U Boat trucks will swap in nice to match the prototype.

Welcome to the group tim. Are all W&LE's GP35's on ALCO trucks? IIRC, the number of W&LE GP-35's not on Alco trucks is only 2. They are locos #101 (ex 1301) and 3045 (ex DRGW 3045). Both are upgrades to GP35-3 status. My information comes from: www.wle.railfan.net/wlecur-rost.htmlThanks for your question! Regards from Akron, Tim

I spent a week railfanning the WLE a few years ago, from Brewster to Bellevue.
