Ok, here are a few shots of my latest work. 1st is the now finished IORY GP18R #72(Details West Filter box was added), 2nd we have IORY GP18R #71 which is 95% complete still needs MU hoses, antenna and a few other little things. And 3rd we have my very first chop nose GP9, IORY GP9R #66. Unit is modeled after an Ex-SP Phase 3 GP9 that has been chopped but retains the nose light patch. What do ya think? They look sharp,I always liked that scheme, just something about it.... Where any of the GP's ever painted in the red version of that scheme?
That paint scheme would look good on a wide cab EMD also..

No GP7/9/18 was ever painted in the later Indiana & Ohio solid red scheme with orange and white stripes. Closest they ever came was 2 GP30M's #'s 86-87. I am currently working on a model of IORY GP30M #87

Very nice! Nice and brightly-coloured units are always nice on the point of a train (especially these days)!
One thing about those earlier P2K Geeps, the handrails aren't too delicate and won't break/lean like on some later units.

Great Work !! One observation though. On your chop nose GP9 #66, If you are basing it upon a SP ph3 GP9? You should be aware that the last order of GP9's that SP recieved from EMD came with the factory low-nose. So using the cab from the GP20 would be correct, but you should of also have used the low-nose from it also. As there is a definite slope to the factory low-nose that EMD used for the GP9/18/20. When RR chopped a nose it usually came out with a flat top. Here is a link to a photo of an SP low-nose GP9, that you can see the slope of the nose. www.rr-fallenflags.org/sp/sp3884awp.jpgOtherwise I think that you are doing some realy nice work on these units
