How many out there have ever used the Smokey Valley handrail stanchions? I saw a thread on another forum about them and was just wondering if anyone else besides me has used them. I personally love them (or any brass stanchions) myself I have completed 3 units so far and plan on using them on all my units in the future.I had heard a nasty rumor that Smokey Valley was not going to produce them anymore,I hope that is not true if anyone has info on that please share with me.. I have never used anyone elses but I did get a SD40-2 detail kit on Ebay from Pacific Fast Mail (nice kit I think PIA sales them now) and I have not installed them as of yet. Oh and if anybody has the SM SD40-2 or SD60 stanchions and dont want them please let me know and I will get them from you.

For N scale I used the photo-etched brass stanchions from Gold Medal Models. Would anyone be interested in something similar for HO scale? I think they could be made pretty close to scale size for HO. (I like the SVs but they seem a tad oversize to me.)
The only thing I need to work out is how to attach them to the sidesill. The GMMs use a bent tab which I'm not sure how it will look in HO. The SVs use a post as part of the casting but I don't think that can be made in a photo-etched part.
Other things like safety chain could also be made as part of the etchings.
Thoughts?
