I just purchased some railflyer ditchlights and ngineering LED's to do the ditch lights on one of my SD70s. I already have DCC/Sound installed so I hope this goes good ;D

Did you get micro or nano LEDs?

Nano. I plan on using instructions I found on google. I can't wait to see how small these things are for myself

Well the micro LEDs are ridiculously tiny based on their measurements! Let us know how it goes and how easy/difficult soldering the leads are. I've got two models sitting on the bench because I cant decide between the nano vs micro

Can do. These LEDs are expensive so I hope I don't screw up.

Alright I got one question...I need to do the headlights in this thing at the same time as the ditch lights, but I don't want to use the nano LEDs in the headlights as well. Athearn had these bulbs in there...what can I do?

Where did you attach the ditch light wires to the decoder. I would like to have ditch lights on an NS SD45-2 that flash alternately. Is there a special location that the wires need to attach to be able to flash? Thanks!

Okay, confusion from the new guy. What the model number, price and recommended vendor for the warm white LEDs you guys are using for ditch lights? I am ready to get them going, but I have NO experience with installing them. Does anyone have pictures of an installation? On another note, what is the FRA requirement? Are ditch lights supposed to be on the front and the rear? What do most modelers end up doing? I guess that would require two more function leads or forget about alternating lights.

I guess that would require two more function leads or forget about alternating lights. FRA says that you must have ditchlights if going over a road crossing faster than 20 mph. So yard goats dont have to have them (they just cant go over a road crossing faster than 20 mph). Road units dont have to have them on the rear. They just cant run rear end forward if its the lead motor. Road units dont have to have them at all, but they can only be used as a "B" unit (trail motor only). P
